Clay Fuller takes on Shawn Harris today in GA-14 runoff. GOP's 218-214 House edge hangs on Trump-backed DA in deep-red district.
Trump Rally Clears GOP Field for Fuller
Clay Fuller advanced from a field of 17 Republicans after no candidate topped 50 percent in March. Trump headlined a February rally in Rome, Georgia, to boost Fuller and his economic plans, according to local reporting. The district attorney from Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit also drew Club for Growth cash.
Hardliner Colton Moore took third place with 12 percent, splitting the conservative vote and forcing the runoff. That fragmentation spooked Georgia Republicans, who feared a Democratic pickup in the Trump +37 district.
Harris Plays Catch-Up in Red Fortress
Shawn Harris, retired Army brigadier general, consolidated Democrats after the first round. He ran against Greene in 2024 and lost by 29 points, AP reports. National headwinds give him no edge here.
