William Burton Jones is an American politician and businessman who has served as the 13th Lieutenant Governor of Georgia since January 2023. A Republican, he previously represented Georgia State Senate District 25 from 2013 to 2023. He is associated with his family business, Jones Petroleum, and founded JP Capital & Insurance, Inc. He earned a B.S. in History from the University of Georgia and was a permanent team captain of the 2002 SEC Championship-winning Georgia Bulldogs football team.
