About
Peter Paul Montgomery Buttigieg is an American politician, U.S. Navy Reserve veteran, and former management consultant who served as the 19th U.S. Secretary of Transportation (2021–2025). He previously served as mayor of South Bend, Indiana (2012–2020) and ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020. He earned a B.A. from Harvard University and studied at the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar.
