John Flanders Kennedy is a Republican attorney and former Georgia state senator who represented Georgia Senate District 18 from 2015 to 2025. He served as President Pro Tempore of the Georgia State Senate beginning in January 2023 and announced in June 2025 that he would run for Lieutenant Governor of Georgia. He resigned from the Georgia Senate in December 2025 to focus on campaigning. He earned a B.A. and J.D. from Mercer University.
