Stephen Wade "Steve" Gooch is a Republican member of the Georgia State Senate representing District 51 (North Georgia) and previously served as Majority Leader of the Georgia Senate Majority Caucus (2023–2025). He was first elected to the Georgia Senate in 2010 and has also served as Lumpkin County's sole commissioner and as a member of the Georgia Board of Transportation. In 2025, he launched a campaign for Lieutenant Governor of Georgia in the 2026 election cycle.
