The Wick poll released July 13 shows former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and Republican nominee Rick Jackson tied at 43 percent each among 1,175 likely voters. The survey, conducted June 27-30 with a margin of error of plus or minus 2.9 percent, leaves 14 percent undecided ahead of the Nov. 3 general election for the open governor's seat.
Incumbent Republican Gov. Brian Kemp is term-limited and cannot run again. The race pits Bottoms, the Democratic nominee, against Jackson, the GOP nominee and former state representative.
Wick Survey Shows Dead Heat Among Likely Voters
The poll from Wick.io asked likely voters their preference in a head-to-head matchup. Both candidates received identical support at 43 percent. The 14 percent undecided share indicates room for movement as the campaign intensifies over the next four months.
Ballotpedia lists the full results and methodology on its election page. The sample focused on likely voters, a group that typically participates at higher rates than registered voters alone. This framing often produces tighter margins than surveys of all registered adults.
Fox News Poll Shows Different Spread
A separate Fox News poll conducted June 23-27 by Beacon Research and Shaw & Company Research found Bottoms ahead 52 percent to 47 percent among 1,002 registered voters. That survey carried a margin of error of plus or minus 3.0 percent and showed only 1 percent undecided.
The two polls differ in timing by a few days, sample type, and question wording. Registered-voter samples can include lower-propensity participants who may not turn out, while likely-voter screens attempt to isolate those who will vote. The Fox News results appear on the same Ballotpedia page that hosts the Wick data.
