The Republican National Committee is launching a multimillion-dollar election integrity initiative with an initial seven-figure investment that is projected to reach eight figures or tens of millions nationwide. The program forms part of the party's estimated $800 million midterm war chest and targets 17 battleground states. It aims to recruit poll workers, poll watchers, and election observers while coordinating legal oversight through the 2026 midterms.
Directors to Anchor Operations in Key States
The RNC will hire dedicated election integrity directors in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina and 13 other battleground states. These directors will build local teams to recruit poll workers, poll watchers and election observers. They will also manage Election Day logistics and coordinate with attorneys on legal challenges. The structure expands the 2024 model that placed similar staff in 18 target states.
Scale Builds on 2024 Volunteer Success
In 2024 the RNC recruited more than 230,000 volunteers across 18 states and enlisted more than 6,000 volunteer attorneys for poll watching, poll work and legal support. The new effort seeks to replicate and enlarge that network. RNC Chair Joe Gruters said the program creates a permanent nationwide ground game of poll workers, poll watchers and lawyers to protect every legal ballot and maintain Republican majorities in the House and Senate.
